House rules
While you're here
- Please help yourself to any food, drinks, perishables, etc!
- Keep exterior doors locked while sleeping or away — the neighborhood is very safe, but it's a good habit
- Close downstairs windows before leaving the house — helps with dog barking noise
- Avoid leaving pet or human food unattended — Izzy has IBD and eating food outside her diet triggers flare-ups
- All rooms except our office and our bedroom are open to you — those two are the rooms upstairs on the left. Your room is straight ahead/far right upstairs, bathroom is the first door on the right, closet is in between
- Please, no smoking or vaping inside, and be respectful of neighbors if smoking or vaping outside
Pet rules
- All furniture is pet-friendly — the dogs typically sleep in bed or on the dog bed (which will be in the guest room)
- Cats can be in the basement unsupervised and use the cat door to hang out with Alvin
- Dogs are allowed on the couch and the human-size dog bed in the basement with supervision — they know the words Couch and Upstairs
- Both dogs can be left in the living room when you leave. Ziggy is also comfortable in a pen on his mat if he's getting into trouble
Before you leave
- Please put used dishes and kitchenware in the dishwasher and run it
- Please remove any meat-based items you bought from the fridge, freezer, and pantry and discard in the compost — we're vegetarian and can't eat them
- If you finished a non-perishable kitchen item or basic like olive oil, there's no need to replace - but please keep track and let us know at the end of the sit so we can add it to our grocery order
- Everything else is optional! Vacuums and cleaning supplies are on every floor in case of pet messes.
