All Pets - Basic Routine Checklist
Morning
Usually around 9:30am, but the critters are flexible.
- Izzy:
- Locate Izzy's feeder, a white automatic food bowl, near the patio door
- Press along the sides to open and lift the lid, and you will see a black sectioned tray
- Wash tray if needed, then go to the pet feeding area with green drawers
- Izzy's food is in the cat-shaped cookie jar, or the middle green drawer if that runs out
- Crumble 1 patty each Vital Essentials Rabbit cat food into two sections of the tray
- Sprinkle meds from the pink box evenly over the food
- Add water about halfway up and return the tray to the feeder, placing the current meal at the bottom and the next meal to the left of the current meal
- RC:
- Open the food bowl near the monstera plant to find the black 1/4 cup measuring cup
- Scoop 1/4 cup food into his bowl
- KK & Ziggy:
- Let both dogs out for a potty break
- When they come in, they should go right to their mat
- Put 1 twist of food from the feeder on the green drawers into each dish — Place KK's bone dish near the bar counter, and Ziggy's shallow dish near the pantry
- Say "okay!" and they'll run over to eat
- Make sure KK doesn't finish Ziggy's food :)
- Alvin:
- Give 1 scoop of pellets (blue-lid bin, left of TV)
- Scoop the litterbox into the green compost bin and swap the towel underneath for a fresh one — new towels are on the wood table near the couch, used towels go in the blue laundry basket
- Refill water
- Top up the hay rack above his litterbox
Evening
Usually around 6pm, but the critters are flexible.
- Izzy: Nothing needed — her feeder will give her dinner.
- RC:
- Scoop a scant 1/3 cup into his bowl (measuring cup is inside the feeder lid)
- KK & Ziggy:
- Check if the neighbor's dogs are out before letting them into the backyard — if so, wait half an hour or they'll bark
- Let them out for a potty break, then feed as in the morning
- Check the water fountain near their mat
- Alvin:
- Give 4 or 5 leaves of romaine lettuce from the fridge
- Check water
- Quick scoop of the litterbox (towel only needs swapping once a day or every other day)
- Top up the hay rack
Try to spend a little time with Alvin in the evening — he loves company and will often nose bop you or hop on the couch to watch TV. The dogs are welcome down there with supervision, and are trained to stay on the couch.
Before bed
- KK & Ziggy:
- Let them out for a potty break (same neighbor check if needed), then feed 1 twist of food each as a snack
